  1. Isaiah 40:1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your
  2. God.
  3.  
  4. Isaiah 40:2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto
  5. her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is
  6. pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double
  7. for all her sins.
  8.  
  9. Isaiah 40:3  The voice of him that crieth in the
  10. wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight
  11. in the desert a highway for our God.
  12.  
  13. Isaiah 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every
  14. mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall
  15. be made straight, and the rough places plain:
  16.  
  17. Isaiah 40:5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed,
  18. and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the
  19. LORD hath spoken [it].
  20.  
  21. Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I
  22. cry? All flesh [is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof
  23. [is] as the flower of the field:
  24.  
  25. Isaiah 40:7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because
  26. the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people
  27. [is] grass.
  28.  
  29. Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the
  30. word of our God shall stand for ever.
  31.  
  32. Isaiah 40:9  O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee
  33. up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good
  34. tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift [it] up, be
  35. not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
  36.  
  37. Isaiah 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong
  38. [hand], and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward
  39. [is] with him, and his work before him.
  40.  
  41. Isaiah 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he
  42. shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in
  43. his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with
  44. young.
  45.  
  46. Isaiah 40:12  Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of
  47. his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and
  48. comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and
  49. weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a
  50. balance?
  51.  
  52. Isaiah 40:13 Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or
  53. [being] his counsellor hath taught him?
  54.  
  55. Isaiah 40:14 With whom took he counsel, and [who]
  56. instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and
  57. taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of
  58. understanding?
  59.  
  60. Isaiah 40:15 Behold, the nations [are] as a drop of a
  61. bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance:
  62. behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
  63.  
  64. Isaiah 40:16 And Lebanon [is] not sufficient to burn, nor
  65. the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
  66.  
  67. Isaiah 40:17 All nations before him [are] as nothing; and
  68. they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
  69.  
  70. Isaiah 40:18  To whom then will ye liken God? or what
  71. likeness will ye compare unto him?
  72.  
  73. Isaiah 40:19 The workman melteth a graven image, and the
  74. goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver
  75. chains.
  76.  
  77. Isaiah 40:20 He that [is] so impoverished that he hath no
  78. oblation chooseth a tree [that] will not rot; he seeketh
  79. unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image,
  80. [that] shall not be moved.
  81.  
  82. Isaiah 40:21 Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it
  83. not been told you from the beginning? have ye not
  84. understood from the foundations of the earth?
  85.  
  86. Isaiah 40:22 [It is] he that sitteth upon the circle of the
  87. earth, and the inhabitants thereof [are] as grasshoppers;
  88. that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth
  89. them out as a tent to dwell in:
  90.  
  91. Isaiah 40:23 That bringeth the princes to nothing; he
  92. maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
  93.  
  94. Isaiah 40:24 Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they
  95. shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in
  96. the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall
  97. wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
  98.  
  99. Isaiah 40:25 To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be
  100. equal? saith the Holy One.
  101.  
  102. Isaiah 40:26 Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath
  103. created these [things], that bringeth out their host by
  104. number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of
  105. his might, for that [he is] strong in power; not one
  106. faileth.
  107.  
  108. Isaiah 40:27 Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O
  109. Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is
  110. passed over from my God?
  111.  
  112. Isaiah 40:28  Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard,
  113. [that] the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the
  114. ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? [there
  115. is] no searching of his understanding.
  116.  
  117. Isaiah 40:29 He giveth power to the faint; and to [them
  118. that have] no might he increaseth strength.
  119.  
  120. Isaiah 40:30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and
  121. the young men shall utterly fall:
  122.  
  123. Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew
  124. [their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
  125. they shall run, and not be weary; [and] they shall walk,
  126. and not faint.
